Admissions Overview

Golden Star Academy welcomes applications from students of all backgrounds. We believe in equal opportunity and evaluate each applicant holistically – considering academic potential, character, and family commitment to education.

We accept new students for KG through Grade 11 each year. Grade 12 transfers are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

How to Apply

Admission Process – Step by Step

Submit Application

Complete the application form online or collect a physical form from the school office. Attach required documents.

Entrance Assessment

Students Grade 3 and above sit a 2-hour assessment in Myanmar Language, English, and Mathematics.

Interview

A 30-minute family interview with our admissions team. Students are assessed on attitude and learning readiness.

Offer & Enrolment

Successful applicants receive an offer letter within 7 working days. Confirm your place by paying the registration fee.

All fees are quoted in Myanmar Kyat (MMK). Fees are reviewed annually.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an age requirement for Kindergarten? ▼

Children must turn 4 years old by 1 June of the academic year they are enrolling. For Grade 1, children must be 6 years old by 1 June.

Can siblings apply at the same time? ▼

Yes. Siblings may apply together and will be assessed independently. A 10% sibling discount on monthly tuition is applied automatically when a second child from the same household enrols.

What is the language of instruction? ▼

Instruction is bilingual from Grade 3. Myanmar Language and Social Studies are taught in Myanmar. Mathematics, Science, and English are taught in English. KG–Grade 2 uses Myanmar as the primary language with English as a subject.

Do you offer school bus services? ▼

Yes. We operate 12 buses covering 24 routes across Yangon including Bahan, Tamwe, Dagon, Hlaing, Insein, and Mingaladon townships. Routes and fees are confirmed after enrolment.

Can I get a refund if my child cannot attend? ▼

The registration fee is non-refundable. Tuition fees paid in advance are refundable for unused months less a 10% administrative charge, provided 30 days written notice is given.
